Meet Richard Style, a seasoned events host with over 18 years of experience under his belt. He’s the go-to guy for formal black tie, product launches, anniversary, thematic parties and community events. But that’s not all, his impressive linguistic abilities allow him to speak English, Mandarin, Malay, Hokkien, Cantonese, and Teochew fluently!

Imagine having a host who is not only dynamic and charismatic on stage, but also has a great sense of humor. That’s Richard in a nutshell. His great personality and versatility make him a breeze to work with, ensuring that your event is a success.

Throughout his career, Richard has had the pleasure of co-hosting with some of the biggest names in local television and radio such as Romeo Tan, Vernetta Lopez, Kym Ng, Jeanette Aw, Taufik Batisah, Patricia Mok, Vivian Lai, and Julie Tan, just to name a few.

He’s had the privilege of hosting some of the biggest events in Singapore, such as the SG50 Countdown Party, Chingay (Asia’s largest street parade), President’s Charity Challenge, and many more. But that’s not all, he’s also hosted events overseas in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, China, and U.S!

Born in Singapore, and having lived in China and U.S., Richard holds a master’s degree in technology entrepreneurship, bachelor’s degree in engineering and finance certifications such as the CFA, CAIA, CMT, and FRM.

Dinner and Dance Bookings - FAQ

What comes with an Emcee booking for a Dinner and Dance?
- An Emcee Dinner and Dance booking comes with a pre-event meeting (Virtual or Physical) and a 30 minutes technical run before the event begins.
- A Dinner and Dance booking also comes with a DJ who will provide background music, audio effects and support the emcee in their game delivery.

What is the typical duration of a booking?
- A Dinner and Dance booking is typically in block of 4 hours.

Is the price affected by the number of hours?
- For Dinner and Dance bookings, the price remains the same even if the hours are lesser. If the event slightly overruns, the price remains the same.

Are Rehearsals Chargeable?
- 30min Technical Runs are included in the booking price and this is for you to update the emcee on any last minute changes, go through name pronunciations and any other last minute details.
- Any rehearsal on a separate day is chargeable.
- Any rehearsal on the same day that takes place more than one hour before the event starts is chargeable.

When should I schedule the pre-event meeting?
- You should schedule the pre-event meeting no less than 2 weeks before the event. This is so that the emcee has the latest program and the conclusions of the meeting stays as current as possible relative to the event date.

What do I need to prepare for the pre-event meeting?
- Background of any awards or special segments you have at the event.
- The latest program for the event.
- Exact names and Titles for the dignitaries that you need the emcee to announce.

What do I need to prepare for the event?
- Game prizes for the Emcee’s game segments. We recommend $5 vouchers as small prizes that your colleagues would appreciate. Each emcee requires a different amount of prizes for their games but a good rule of thumb would be 30 prizes. The more you prepare, the higher the emcee can raise the mood of your guests! Remember, these prizes are for your colleagues, so if you have the budget, there is no reason to hold back.
